Insurance

We will gladly bill your insurance carrier for you. However, we cannot guarantee payment by any plans. If insurance cannot be verified, we require payment for services and supplements at the time of service. In some cases, we can offer a 3-payment plan for these charges.  If your insurance does pay after you have already paid up front for services you will be offered credit on your account toward future services and supplements or a refund in the form of a check, whichever you prefer.

Services

It is your responsibility to verify your plan benefits. To do this, simply call the customer service number on the backside of your insurance card and ask the following questions:

1. Does my plan cover naturopathic providers?
2. If so, is Dr. Donna Beck or Dr. Tom Messinger a preferred provider?
3. What percent of services will I be responsible for?  (or, what is my copay?)
4. Do I have a deductible to meet for these services?
5. If yes, how much is it? Has any of my deductible been met yet?

Supplements

Insurance rarely covers supplements. Payment for supplements is required at the time of service. We will be happy to bill your insurance for these supplements. In the event your plan covers supplements you will be issued a credit to your account or a refund in the form of a check, whichever you prefer. Once coverage has been established you will be charged based on your insurance policy's medicine  and supplies guidelines.

Laboratory

Often, insurance companies will also have a preferred laboratory for any lab work your provider orders. It is helpful for you to obtain this information directly from your insurance carrier. To do this, simply call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following:

1. What is the preferred laboratory for my plan?
2. Will these services be covered if it is ordered by naturopath?
3. What is the rate of coverage for laboratory services?

Phone Consultations

In certain cases, phone consultation is available as an alternative to an office visit. Generally, phone consultations are not covered by insurance. The charge for phone consultations is based on time, billable in 15 minute increments. Please be advised that our doctors do not diagnose conditions over the phone, you must be present for an examination in most cases. This is part of our commitment to quality care and responsible standards of practice.
